Concept : The word PIXEL is a combination of pix ( from "pictures", shortened to "pics")  and  el  (for "element").

Pixel is the smallest controllable element responsible for forming an image. Changing the placement of a few of them may cause a dramatic effect on the image.

kitakita was inspired by this very element which

kitakita

kitakita is a public art park and a community center located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, aiming to educate societies on the vast type of people and learning how to respect individuals of all kinds.

It will be a safe space where differences are celebrated and explored, with new bonds created and preconceived prejudice shattered through various carefully planned programs and art installations that help carry the message of empathy and unity, indirectly helping the art industry of Malaysia.

kitakita consists of three different sections called WE: the information centre, THE PARK: the modular art park and OURS: the community centre

symbolizes the importance of different fragments of shifting individualities whereby if it is understood and respected, will create a harmonious and healthy society. kitakita provides counselling services, art spaces and organizes programs. Design-wise, this is achieved by the connective and changeable design evident especially in the park; water elements and greeneries help bring a sense of tranquillity.

ailuros

ai-loo-raus

Koine Greek: αἴλουρος // cat”

A combination of Bastet and Sekhmet, Egyptian Goddesses with Two Different Personalities, Sekhmet represented the powerful warrior and protector aspect and Bastet, who increasingly was depicted as a cat, represented a gentler aspect.

Symbol: Lioness, Cat, Protection, Arts

ailuros is a feline visual art gallery that incorporates not only digital and physical art exclusively. But, it also encourages the marriage between the two forms of art while promoting its main cause; reducing the population of stray cats and encouraging adoption of these unfortunate, beautiful, creatures.

The whole gallery is built with the safety of cats in mind and it will have a dedicated mini-museum on all things cat, creating awareness of the manifold dire issues that they are facing. Each artist will foster one stray or feral cat that will become the main subject of their works that will be showcased. The goal is to have visitors feel a connection to these cats, prompting adoption while promoting the aesthetics of the artists.

Taking inspiration from two polar opposite deities of Greek mythology, Pseudologoi and Alatheia, which were the personified spirits of lies and falsehoods and of truth respectively.

They are perfect symbolism of contrasts, most of the time complements. That discussions of hard truth is important and realising that lying to oneself, turning a blind eye on issues that are not directly related to us is much more disastrous than we think. Ailuros encourages visitors to extend compassion beyond species and to actively be part of the solution.

The erection of Ailuros is heavily influenced by contrasts or a more aptly coined term, con-trust. It is visible in its design, from the dark brooding black exterior and the bright light, welcoming interior to the contrasting soft curves and arches against the rigid straight lines of the walls which can be seen in the interior layout and display wall design.
