Biolum
Biolum is a design specified towards a co-living space for housemen. The design stemmed from the idea of creating a stress-reducing space, as these young doctors in training do face a challenge in terms of their overwhelming workload.
The design concept originated from the idea of a pendulum swing, which is known as a stress-relieving and anxiety-reducing gadget. In this case, it was used as the design inspiration for the choice in materials, shapes and movements in the space. An additional use of the Biophilic design was used to further inspire the space design.
Wardian
Wardian is a restaurant focusing on the topic of starvation, food wastage and climate change. Starvation and food wastage was tackled through the effort of helping the homeless. Surplus food that is being wasted will be distributed to the poor with the help of supported NGOs. Whereas, climate change will be emphasized in the addition of the greenhouse in the design.
The chosen design concept for this project is the wardian case. The English case design complements the existing Moorish architecture of the chosen site. As influenced by the concept, the design has a heavy use of glass, wood textures and greenery. The main intent of the space is to create the illusion for the diners, of dining within a life-sized wardian case.
