Therefore, Antara is created to solve several issues that the filmmakers are facing through design.
Not only as a place to increase awareness to the society but also as a symbol of collaboration and peace between neighbouring countries and accept the differences and similarities that we have.
As a space in between, Antara is the place to celebrate collaboration, the effort and hard work of the film communities, and celebrate the cultural similarities and differences that had been disputed over the years.
Antara
Antara is an experience center/ edutainment center that showcases the film industry in Indonesia and Malaysia. Instead of displaying locally made movies, antara brings awareness about the issue that the film industry or film-makers are facing.
Over the years, the local film industry had its own period of development and decline. However, the biggest struggle that the local filmmakers are facing is the rules and regulations that they have to follow.
In which, it’s harder for them to capture and deliver the message to the viewers especially when they want to bring up societal issues that are currently or were happening in the past.
Kindle
Kindle is a creative entrepreneur course centre for the orphans of poverty who are willing to upgrade their skills and expand their knowledge.
In Kindle, they will be taught vocational skills according to their interest. The poverty orphans have been struggling with various issues and have to adjust to some uncomfortable situations.
Some of them even have to replace their parents’ responsibility to earn money and provide for the family, which results in their absences in school or even discontinuing to study formally.
Therefore, Kindle is designed to cater to several needs of the poverty orphans that might be useful after they graduate from their formal education.
The design of the space is focusing on the user’s welfare. It’s maximizing the potential of the orphans of poverty, in a limited space.
